Accomplishments
I did it! The we now have the most commonly used words in the titles and the tags. After managing to split the title and tags into words the rest was easy. The program now runs and I began looking at other aspects of the code to see if they can also be useful.
Weekly Goal
Finish going through the code and finish the application to present at Oakweek, the Ohio women in computing conference.

Week 7
Accomplishments
I continued to debug our statistics program and made a little headway. Unfortunately my computer struggled to handle the massive amount of data need for these programs and also crashed. Since then I've looked for alternative ways to feed in the data and it seems to have really helped.
Weekly Goal
This week I hope to have the program gather statistics on words as well as characters. In addition I'd like to find an NLP library for R.

Week 6
Accomplishments
We now have a github repository and some working code. We found statistics for the data using R and have tentative models. Not all of the code is functional, but it's definitely a start! We've both separately encountered problems as we've coded. I've run into a memory shortage problem and Hannah's computer actually crashed, but we're pushing through the bugs and will hopefully have two function programs next week.
Weekly Goal
The goal this week is simply to complete the programs we started last week and start writing up results.

Week 5
Accomplishments
This week Hannah began to code and I read out last article for a while. We feel like we have a solid enough understanding of the material to really begin digging in and making our own versions of the models we've been reading about. We have all of the deep learning software we need and are excited to actually start innovating!
Weekly Goal
This week we have found several models we plan to adapt to run our data sets.

Week 4
Accomplishments
This week I was at the Grace Hopper Celebration in Houston, Texas. It was amazing! I met so many inspiring, fantastic women, and was truly able to imagine that I can actually be a woman in tech for the first time. I also was able to meet Dr. Sharif for the first time in person and hear her present her research during the Creu poster session. It was an amazing experience I'll never forget. Also Happy Birthday Google!
Weekly Goal
Now that I'm back I'm ready to use the inspiration and motivation from Grace Hopper. I'll be reading another article and testing the models we've found through our research with real data.
